Seven arrested after fight in King's Lynn puts man in hospital

Seven people were arrested, including five men and two women following a fight

A man has been taken to hospital and seven people have been arrested following an altercation.

Norfolk Police were called to Littleport Street in King's Lynn on Sunday at about 04:00 GMT to reports of a fight.

A man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries and he was transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Five men and two women were arrested on suspicion of assault.

A number of road closures were put in place including the A148 Gaywood Road junction with Loke Road, and Austin Street to Littleport Street towards Gaywood while inquiries took place.

The men, who are in their 20s, and woman, one aged in her 20s and the other in her 30s, were taken to King's Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Police were investigating whether this incident was linked to others in the town over the weekend.

A man was assaulted in the Millfleet Court area at about 16:00 on Saturday and a second man was assaulted on Blackfriars Road on Sunday at about 08:00.

Both men were taken to hospital, with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Det Insp Niky Greenacre said: "It is important to say that we not looking for anyone else in connection with these incidents and believe them to be isolated incidents. There is no wider risk to the public."
