Child injured in Norwich city centre bus collision

A child is being treated in hospital after a city-centre accident involving a bus.

Police closed St Stephens Road, Norwich, in both directions near the Trowel and Hammer pub on Thursday afternoon.

Norfolk Police, the East of England Ambulance Service and an air ambulance crew attended the scene.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, external, police advised drivers to "take alternative routes".

The age of the child and the injuries have not been disclosed.

An East Anglian Air Ambulance spokesperson said: "The critical care team was tasked to Norwich to assist the East of England Ambulance Service and police with a child who had been involved in a road traffic collision."

The patient was taken by land ambulance to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
