Six people have been charged following a protest at a pork processing factory.

Police said they were called to reports that protesters entered Cranswick Country Foods in Brandon Road, Watton, in Norfolk, at 06:07 BST on Wednesday.

One protester at the scene said they occupied a CO2 "gas chamber" to highlight the "horrifying reality of UK slaughterhouses".

Five men and one woman have each been charged with aggravated trespass and are due to appear at court in May.

A seventh suspect, a woman in her 20s, was bailed until 2 July having been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit aggravated trespass.

The accused are due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on 10 May.
