Three arrested over cable thefts in Northamptonshire

Three men from Essex have been arrested on suspicion of stealing cable in Northamptonshire.

The men, two aged 29 and 31 from Pitsea and an 18-year-old from Tilbury, were found on the A6 Station Road, Finedon, Northamptonshire, just after midnight.

Police said they had been called by a passing motorist who had noticed a suspicious vehicle.

Officers discovered cable in the back of a van parked by the road. The men were found hiding nearby.

They are being held at Wellingborough police station and are due to be questioned.
