Crackdown on dog owners planned in Northamptonshire
- Published
A council in Northamptonshire is planning to crackdown on dog owners who fail to clear up mess or allow their animals off their leads in public.
Kettering Borough Council is consulting on new dog control orders under clean neighbourhood and environment laws.
The orders will create the offence of failing to remove dog mess from public land in the borough.
Owners could also be prosecuted if they fail to put a dog on a lead when asked by an authorised officer.
The council wants comments on two new proposed dog control orders to reach them before 20 December.
