Plan to turn Northampton's Lava Ignite club into gym

A Northampton nightclub where two partygoers were crushed to death last year may be converted into a gym.

Pure Gym has applied to Northampton Borough Council to put signs on the front of the Lava & Ignite building, indicating a take over.

The night club closed in October after students Nabila Nanfuka and Laurene-Danielle Jackson died following a stampede of people trying to leave.

The gym could open later this year.
