Isham bypass planning extension sought

Planning permission for a long awaited £30m bypass in a Northamptonshire village is set to be extended for a further 10 years.
The A509 Isham bypass between Wellingborough and Kettering was approved in 2006.
But Northamptonshire County Council said it was unable to secure funding for the project due to budget cuts.
The council will discuss whether to extend planning permission at a meeting next week.
Graham Rait, chairman of the Isham Bypass Action Group, said: "We are not sure if we will see the bypass built here any time soon, but we have got to keep working on it."
Conservative-controlled Northamptonshire County Council chief executive, Paul Blantern, said: "The A509 Isham bypass remains one of the county council's most important roads.
"We are committed to doing as much as we can to advance this key project for the county."
Funding was cut from the project following the government's spending review in 2010.
"The scheme would not be considered for funding until 2015 at the earliest," said Mr Blantern.
