Rushden Lakes retail park: Secretary of State's decision delayed

A final decision on plans for a £50m out-of-town shopping centre in Northamptonshire has been delayed.
The government was to decide on 20 November if the Rushden Lake retail park would go ahead.
East Northamptonshire Council approved the plans in October.
The Department for Communities and Local Government, which is making the final decision, has told the council it needs more time to come to a view.
Corby, Kettering and Northampton councils have opposed the project claiming it would affect their towns.
The development, which would include 20 shops, would be built on the site of the old Skew Bridge Country Club and dry ski slope on the edge of Rushden.
East Northamptonshire Council said the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government had not announced when the final decision would be made.
