Northamptonshire £17m transport plans budget backed

Transport schemes costing more than £17m are to be sent to the Department of Transport after funding plans were approved by the county council.
An upgrade of the A43 in Northampton, costing the county's local transport body £4.3m, is one of two priorities.
The other is the A45 Northampton to Daventry link, bypassing Weedon, Flore and Upper Heyford, budgeted at £8m.
An extra £5m is earmarked for work at Stanton Cross, Wellingborough, depending on funds from other sources.
A Moulton bypass will only go ahead once the other schemes are completed, and if further funding can be found.
Work would start from 2016.
The local transport body is a partnership between Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership and Northamptonshire County Council.
