Kettering Hospital patient died after appendix surgery

Victoria Harrison was found unresponsive the morning after routine surgery
A teenage patient suffered blood loss during an operation and died the next day, an inquest has heard.
Victoria Harrison, 17, had a routine appendix operation at Kettering General Hospital on 15 August last year.
Surgeon Shady Hosny said she had lost 200ml of blood during surgery, and it was normal for patients to lose 50ml. He stopped the bleed and the operation was a success, he added.
The hearing in Corby was told Miss Harrison was later found unresponsive.
At 05:30 BST on 16 August, a care assistant found her pale in her hospital bed. Several resuscitation attempts were carried out but she was pronounced dead.
The inquest was told that Miss Harrison, of Irthlingborough, known as Tor to family and friends, was training to be a beauty technician and was engaged.
