A school for 150 children could be built in Northamptonshire after the project received council backing.

The special school in the Daventry area for pupils aged 4 to 16 was recommended for approval at a meeting on Tuesday.

The cost of the development, which is part of a council review of special needs facilities for under-25s, has yet to be finalised.

In Northamptonshire, there are about 3,900 young people with statements of special education.
