Northampton: Man, 65, seriously injured after van collision

A 65-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a van.

Northamptonshire Police cordoned off a section of Barrack Road, Northampton, following the incident at 16:20 BST on Wednesday.

The force said a white van had collided with the pedestrian near to Leicester Street.

The man was "seriously injured", the force added, and asked for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Roads surrounding the scene were extremely busy following the incident, with drivers reporting hour-long journeys from the town centre to its outskirts.
