Northants domestic abuse campaign launched for Christmas

A domestic abuse campaign has been launched to coincide with the festive season.
Domestic abuse cases are expected to rise over Christmas, Northamptonshire Police said.
Officers are warning offenders to expect a "knock on the door" and to be brought "to justice".
They also hope victims will be encouraged to report all incidents, whether they are physical or psychological.
Det Ch Insp Andy Rogers, from the force's Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit said: "Officers will respond robustly to incidents, working round the clock to keep people safe.
"Unfortunately, incidents of domestic abuse tend to increase over Christmas."
He said many offenders tried to blame their violence on things like alcohol, financial pressures or family rows, but he said there were no excuses.
He added: "Let's be clear, it is a choice. If you make that choice and commit an offence, we will do everything in our power to protect the victim and bring you to justice."
Officers were currently working through a 'most wanted' list of those responsible for serious domestic abuse, stalking and harassment.
They said they would "publicly name and circulate photographs unless the individuals voluntarily come forward for questioning".
Det Ch Insp Rogers added that there were some offenders who had expressed concern about having their photographs circulated publicly, and he advised those people to hand themselves in.
