Fire extinguishers thrown off bridge in Daventry

Fire extinguishers have been thrown off a footbridge on to a busy bypass in what police have described as "repeated incidents of dangerous behaviour".
Northamptonshire Police said the extinguishers had been stolen from a nearby building site and thrown at traffic from the bridge in Daventry.
They are appealing for witnesses and say a serious incident could occur if the behaviour continues.
The incidents have been talking place at a bridge over the A45.
Know locally as the "curly-wurly" bridge, it allows pedestrians from Staverton Road on the Grange Estate to cross the Stefen Way bypass.
The nickname derives from the spiral shape of the steps from ground level to the overbridge.
A local resident posted on social media that their nephew had been driving along the bypass and a fire extinguisher was thrown off a bridge in front of him.
The post continued: "Luckily it did not hit his car but he did drive over it and, as far as we can see in the dark, no damage.
"He has only been driving [a] week so was quite scary for him."
Another resident posted: "This happened to me last year in the same location with a fire extinguisher.
"It destroyed the underneath of my car where I ended up going over the top of it with my son in the car at the time, we was lucky not to be in a serious accident!"
Northamptonshire Police added: "This behaviour could cause a serious incident so anyone with any information should contact us on 101."
