Man charged after knife attack on police in Northampton

A man has been charged in connection with a knife attack on police officers.

Police said a man suffered cuts to his face and two police officers were attacked in Hazelwood Road, Northampton at about 23:00 GMT on Friday, 8 March.

Gordon Finnlayson, 39, of Duncarnock Crescent in Glasgow, faces a charge of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and two counts of attempted GBH.

Mr Finnlayson was remanded in custody by magistrates and is due to appear at Northampton Crown Court on 24 April.
