Northants Sings Out earned glowing reviews after a recent appearance on Britain's Got Talent

A choir which earned glowing reviews for appearing on Britain's Got Talent will perform at a new live music event in their home county.

Northants Sings Out are among four new acts added to the billing for A Perfect Day concert at Delapre Park, in Northampton, on 16 June.

Soul acts Jalen Ngonda, R&B artist ADMT and indie-pop duo Dolores Forever were also been announced for the event.

The show will be headlined by former X-Factor winner James Arthur.

At their Britain's Got Talent audition, Northants Sings Out - whose members are aged 25 to 65 - performed an energetic rendition of Show Me Love by Robin S.

Judge Amanda Holden said she thought the group were "better than any choir" to have previously appeared on the show, which first aired in 2007.

Kettering's Mae Stephens - who found stardom via TikTok last year - and Northampton-based singer Billy Lockett were among the support acts previously announced for the show.

Fellow Northamptonshire based artists Balter, Charlotte Carpenter, Andy Crofts completed the line-up.

Stephens's breakout song - If We Ever Broke Up - went viral on video sharing site TikTok after a snippet of it was posted last January. It was later named the second most popular song on TikTok globally in 2023.

The singer, who has been writing since the age of 12, had been working shifts in a local supermarket, but has since quit her job to work on her music full-time, performing at the Glastonbury and the twin Reading and Leeds festivals last summer.

Lockett's album Abington Grove reached 15 in the UK albums chart last year.

The 32-year-old from Northampton has recently had singles from the album, including Miss Missing You, played on BBC Radio 2.

West Northamptonshire Council is hosting the one-day event in association with the event promoter Kilimanjaro & UK Live Ltd.

It will take place in the grounds of Delapré Abbey, which was the home of the Tate and Bouverie families for 400 years.

The stately home reopened to the public in 2018 following a £6m restoration project.
