Nottinghamshire Police force to make £45m savings

Nottinghamshire Police is expecting to make cuts of £45m over three years.
Deputy Chief Constable Chris Eyre said the force estimated that government funding cuts will mean they need to cut their budget by 25%.
Plans for refurbishment at the Retford, Broxtowe, Arnold, Ollerton, Clifton and Eastwood police stations have now been put on hold indefinitely.
Mr Eyre said the cuts were "a challenge" but would not affect front line services.
'Untouchable services'
Officer recruitment has also been frozen in the county
In an open letter to Nottinghamshire residents, Mr Eyre said: "As a matter of urgency we are examining every aspect of policing and policing service in Nottinghamshire.
"We are identifying what are vital, untouchable services (answering 999 calls, responding to serious incidents, etc) and how we can continue to deliver these.
"We are looking regionally at how we could work more closely with other police forces and share services."
