Refurbishment work at Nottingham city parks

About £200,000 is being spent on improving three parks in Nottingham.

At Highfields Park, the city council has allocated £120,000 to refurbish or replace play equipment.

Refurbishment work costing £87,000 will also be carried out at the memorial arch, memorial gardens and the bandstand at Victoria Embankment.

At Priory Park, £6,000 has been set aside for general improvements to footpaths, furniture and the park's trees.

The work is due to begin in the spring.

The local authority said £113,000 of the funding was from planning and development scheme contributions, which could be lost if it is not used within five years.
