Lincolnshire placements cut for Nottingham student nurses

Student nurses from the University of Nottingham will no longer be able to train in Lincolnshire's hospitals, it has been announced.
The university has decided to end its contract and "refocus nursing education in Nottingham and Derby".
A spokesperson from NHS East Midlands said the same number of placements would still be available in Lincolnshire.
An alternative university is now being sought to work with hospitals in Lincolnshire.
Peter Rolland, from NHS East Midlands, said: "We do not intend to change the number of commissions [placements] and so hospitals will be receiving the same number of students."
David Harding Price, from the Royal College of Nursing in Lincolnshire, said it was vital to keep nursing opportunities in Lincolnshire.
"The biggest thing we need to be sure of in the future, is that people who live in Lincolnshire and want to train as nurses can do that here in Lincolnshire," he said.
"This is such a large county with such diverse health needs, we need to be able to train people to provide care for everyone."
