A police detective sergeant has appeared in court and denied raping a woman at a house in Nottingham.

Det Sgt Trevor Gray, 47, is accused of assaulting the 43-year-old woman in the early hours of 24 July, while off duty.

He entered a not guilty plea to one count of rape, a further count of attempted rape and a third charge of sexual assault.

Det Sgt Gray was granted bail to appear back at Derby Crown Court on May 28 for a three-day trial.
