Detective denies raping woman in Nottingham

A police detective sergeant has appeared in court and denied raping a woman at a house in Nottingham.
Det Sgt Trevor Gray, 47, is accused of assaulting the 43-year-old woman in the early hours of 24 July, while off duty.
He entered a not guilty plea to one count of rape, a further count of attempted rape and a third charge of sexual assault.
Det Sgt Gray was granted bail to appear back at Derby Crown Court on May 28 for a three-day trial.
The officer, of Stannier Way, Watnall, near Nottingham, was suspended from his position with Nottinghamshire Police on 27 July pending the outcome of the investigation.
