A technology firm says it hopes to create about 100 jobs after relocating to new premises at the University of Nottingham.

Romax, which specialises in wind energy engineering, is to lease a £5.6m purpose-built facility at the university's Innovation Park (UNIP).

The firm, currently based at Nottingham Science Park, aims to create 100 new jobs in the next three to five years.

The new building includes offices, laboratories and a training suite.

Romax said its 10-year lease of the Innovation Park facility, based within the university's Jubilee Campus, would help to cement the pair's relationship.

Chief executive Peter Poon said: "I am delighted to be signing this lease. The University of Nottingham Innovation Park is a great location for Romax.

"Not only does it offer a purpose-built facility with excellent campus services, it also maintains strong links with the university, which is important to us as they share our ethos for innovation."

David Greenaway, the university's vice-chancellor, said: "Romax is a world-class business which will be undertaking cutting-edge development work here, creating many new jobs in the process."

The new building is scheduled to be completed by late 2013.
