Fans asked to wear DH Lawrence masks for social media campaign

Fans of the writer DH Lawrence are being asked to take photographs of themselves in unusual locations wearing cut-out masks of the writer's face.
The idea forms part of a social media campaign run by the DH Lawrence Heritage Centre in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.
The campaign launched on 26 April and has so far received photographs taken in the UK and France.
The centre hopes to highlight how well travelled the author was.
The campaign - named Where's Lawrence? - will use social media channels, such as Facebook and Twitter, to display some of the photographs and keep fans up to date with the latest places the author has been "spotted".
'The spirit of Lawrence'
The image of Lawrence, which is available to download on the centre's website, is based on a painting by Nottinghamshire artist Adrian Lloyd which is currently on display at the venue.
Manager Sally Nightingale helped come up with the idea.
"It's the first time we have done anything like this but it already seems to be taking off," she said.
"We had the idea for the campaign after thinking about Lawrence and his travels. We have a lot of followers all over the world on Twitter and Facebook and we thought this might be a way of engaging with them."
She added the idea was "in the spirit of Lawrence".
"Although he was born in Eastwood, he travelled extensively, to New Mexico, Australia and throughout Europe.
"We have been contacted by people promising to take pictures for us when they go on their summer holidays."
The centre is the sister venue of the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum and is managed by Broxtowe Borough Council and the University of Nottingham.
