The Ashes: Tales from Trent Bridge

Nottinghamshire's Trent Bridge cricket ground has hosted 21 Ashes Tests since 1899.

Opened in 1838 by William Clarke, the landlord of the adjoining Trent Bridge Inn, it was used as a football ground too.

For some time, Trent Bridge became the traditional home of the first Test of the Ashes series.

Here, cricket writer and historian Peter Wynne-Thomas looks through photos from the ground's library and archive.
