Man arrested as pick-up truck hits Woodborough house

The pick-up truck caused damage to a wall of the house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a pick-up truck crashed into a house in a Nottinghamshire village.

It happened at about 02:00 GMT in Lowdham Lane, Woodborough. A 21-year-old man was later taken into custody.

He also being held on suspicion of failing to stop and for not reporting an accident.

Anthony Scarborough, the house owner, told the Nottingham Post he and his son, 5, were lucky not to be injured, external.

He said the car crashed into the kitchen below the boy's bedroom, but due to renovation work they had been sleeping elsewhere in the house.

"It's a stroke of luck really," said Mr Scarborough.

He added that it could be a year before they will be able to go back to the house.
