M1: Long queues after crash closes northbound carriageway

A serious crash closed the northbound carriageway of the M1 between junctions 25 and 26 in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to the motorway at 08:50 BST, but police would not confirm details of any injuries or vehicles involved.

Queues of up to three-and-a-half miles were reported and motorists were asked to avoid the area.

Highways officials said the road has now fully reopened and thanked people for their patience.
