Man charged after serious assault in Nottingham

A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after an assault in Nottingham left a man in critical condition.

Police were called to reports of a fight at the junction of Upper Parliament Street and Trinity Walk at about 03:35 GMT on Saturday.

A man, 26, was reportedly punched and fell to the ground, officers said.

They have released images of 11 people they would like speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises those in the photographs is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police or Crimestoppers.

The force has also called for CCTV or mobile phone footage as it attempts to piece together what happened.

Det Insp Chris Berryman said: "It is incredibly important that we speak with these people pictured as soon as possible as we believe they may have vital information that could help us with our investigation.

"Our thoughts remain with the victim's family and friends during this extremely difficult time."

The victim remains in hospital in a stable but critical condition, the force said.

A 21-year-old man appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

A 17-year-old who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent has been bailed with conditions while inquires continue.
