A blaze that badly damaged a shop was caused by an accidental electrical failure, investigators have said.

Five fire crews were called to Clumber Street in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, at 00:32 BST on Tuesday to reports a commercial building was alight.

The ring road in the town was shut overnight and reopened by 04:25, with two appliances remaining to damp down.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews had now left the scene and the investigation had concluded.

A number of roads which were closed while the flames were tackled have now completely reopened, it added.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Social media comments indicate the affected premises was a Polish supermarket.
