The GMB said its members at the Cargill plant in Worksop rejected a pay offer of 5.5% and a £1,400 lump sum

Workers at a chocolate factory are set to go on strike over pay.

The GMB union said more than a dozen of its members had voted to take industrial action at the Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate site in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

The union had said Ferrero Rocher were made at the site but the maker of the popular chocolates responded that it did not source any of its cocoa from the Worksop factory.

Cargill has been contacted for comment.

Following negotiations, the GMB said it had asked for a 7.5% increase in pay and a £1,400 one-off payment and its members had then voted to reject Cargill's offer of 5.5% rise and £1,400 payment.

It said the dates of the strike action would be announced in due course unless managers offered an improved deal.
