A 15-year-old boy has been charged with terror offences linked to the so-called Islamic State, police have said.

Counter Terrorism Policing North East (CTPNE) said the boy, from Nottingham, had been charged with six counts of dissemination of terrorist publications.

He is also charged with one count of support for a proscribed organisation.

CTPNE said the boy had been bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

It added the teenager, who has not been named due to his age, was arrested in June as part of a pre-planned, intelligence-led, investigation into suspicious activity online in relation to IS.
