Nottingham network disrupted after 'difficulty defrosting trams'

Nottingham's tram operator has apologised to customers after cold weather badly disrupted the service.
Only two trams out of 37 were running initially on Thursday, with eight operating by 09:00 GMT and full service restored by 11:30.
In a statement, Nottingham Express Transit (NET) blamed the problems on "exceptionally cold weather" which led to "difficulties defrosting trams".
In a social media post, it also blamed screen wash for the issues.
The NET statement said: "Due to the exceptionally cold weather conditions overnight, we experienced difficulties defrosting trams at the depot, where temperatures were recorded as low as -8C.
"As a result, we were only able to run a limited service first thing this morning, and we would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience.
"We are working as quickly as possible to restore a full service, and customers should follow our social media for further updates."
While replying to questions about the disruption on its Facebook page, NET said: "It is the trams screen wash is frozen except for two Trams."
As well as bus services, East Midlands trains from Hucknall to Beeston are also accepting tram tickets and passes.
It comes as England, Wales and Northern Ireland recorded their coldest night of this winter so far.
