Treswell: Man arrested after cyclist dies in crash with van

Nottinghamshire Police has appealed for drivers with dashcam footage of the crash to come forward

A cyclist in his 50s died when he was hit by a van in Nottinghamshire.

The crash took place at the Cottam Road junction with Rampton Road, near Treswell, at 09:20 GMT on Sunday.

The cyclist, a 57-year-old man from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, suffered a serious injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nottinghamshire Police, which is investigating, has arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently in custody, assisting detectives with their investigation, the force said.

A police spokesperson has said the family of the cyclist are being supported by specialist officers.
