Nottingham Forest fan, 92, gets surprise call from favourite player
A 92-year-old Nottingham Forest fan has received a surprise phone call from her favourite player, Stuart Pearce.
The club arranged the call for lifelong supporter Vera Hill, who gave up her season ticket after she was diagnosed with macular degeneration in 2012.
Ms Hill, from Nottingham, only has her peripheral vision remaining.
She said she was "overwhelmed" after speaking to former Forest and England defender Pearce.
Her daughter Debbie said: "She used to have a framed picture of him on her bedside cabinet. He is her all-time favourite player."
The phone call comes after the club granted Ms Hill's wish to hear the fans sing at the City Ground once more.
