An 11-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a tram in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said he was struck in Wilkinson Street just after 08:00 GMT on Monday.

The boy was trapped underneath the tram after falling off a bike, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Normal traffic in the area has resumed, and all trams are now running again, Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said.
