Tram passengers in Nottingham are being warned to expect disruption due to two days of work at a stop.

Repairs to tracks and infrastructure upgrade work will be carried out at the David Lane stop in Basford on 18 and 19 May.

No trams will run between Phoenix Park and Wilkinson Street or between Bulwell and Wilkinson Street over the two days.

But replacement buses will run between Wilkinson Street, Phoenix Park, and Bulwell Bus Station.

'Critical work'

Buses will also stop near Basford, David Lane, Highbury Vale and Cinderhill, officials said.

Normal tram services are set to resume on 20 May.

Trevor Stocker, NET head of operations, said: "This May, we'll be replacing parts of the track around the David Lane stop and upgrading elements such as the critical point infrastructure at Highbury Vale, which helps to keep the network running smoothly.

"Our teams will be working hard to ensure these essential works will be completed on time, so we can resume normal service on Monday 20th May, ready for the working week.

"As always, we apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank everyone for their co-operation during this time."

"As well as the replacement bus service, external, alternative travel arrangements can be made by using our park and ride services at either the Wilkinson Street or Forest tram stops, he added.
