Councillors are encouraging residents across Oxfordshire to leave their cars at home later this week.

Car Free Day will be held on Wednesday and has been backed by Oxfordshire County Council.

Councillor Rodney Rose, cabinet member for transport, said its 20,000 workers have been urged to take part to help the environment.

Local schools have been asked to join the campaign, which is also being supported by Oxford City Council.
