Barton sub-post office closure a 'disaster'

The closure of a sub-post office in the Barton area of Oxford has been described as a "disaster" by residents.

Bharat Badiani, who runs the Barton Pharmacy, said: "There was no warning, it just happened out of the blue."

The post office closed on 18 February following the resignation of the sub-postmaster.

A spokesman for the Post Office, which has apologised, said: "We are committed to maintaining Post Office services in the Underhill Circus area."

It said it was working with the local community to find a replacement.
