About 300 dead fish have been found in an Oxfordshire river.

The Environment Agency is investigating after the discovery in the River Ray on Monday.

Mark Franklin, from the Crown pub in Charlton-on-Otmoor, spotted the fish and said there was a strong smell of sewage.

Matthew Kendall, from the Environment Agency, said: "We have taken samples and meter readings and are investigating to establish the cause."
