Oxford bus firms accept rivals' tickets

  • Published

Bus companies in Oxford have launched a joint ticketing scheme.

The city's two main operators Stagecoach and Oxford Bus Company are to accept return tickets covering the area of the City SmartZone scheme, external.

Thames Travel SmartZone ticket holders will also be able to use the buses. The new scheme involves fewer buses and co-ordinated timetables.

Until now passengers would either have had to travel with the same bus company or buy a new ticket.
