Oxford homes back on grid after four-hour power cut

  • Published

About 1,000 households in Oxford are back on the grid following a power cut earlier.

Court Place Gardens, Church Way, Lenthall Road, Nowell Road, Rivermead Road, Court Farm Road, Radford Close, Mortimer Road and Mill Lane were affected.

Providers Scottish and Southern Electric took four hours to repair the underground cable fault.

Large parts of the UK are subject to an amber cold weather warning.

This is the second highest level, with heavy snow forecast for much of England.

Elderly people have been told to take precautions during the cold.
