Surface water and flooding have caused travel problems across Oxfordshire and a new flood warning has been issued.

The Environment Agency issued a flood warning for the River Cherwell from Lower Heyford to Cherwell Bridge.

It said the river had gone on to the floodplain at Heyford Bridge and levels were expected to rise, causing flooding to properties close to the river.

The High Street at Oddington, near Bicester, was flooded in both directions on Thursday morning.

Surface water at East Challow and flooding at the Spiceball car park in Banbury also caused disruption.

Flood alerts remain on the River Thames, River Cherwell and their tributaries.

Further rain, coupled with high winds, has been forecast overnight into Friday morning.

On Wednesday, flooding disrupted rail services between Leamington Spa and Banbury.
