Jeremy Clarkson plans to call the home "Diddly Squat Farm"

Jeremy Clarkson has been granted planning permission to build a luxury six-bedroom house in the Cotswolds.

The Top Gear presenter intends to convert an existing farmhouse near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire and call it "Diddly Squat Farm".

West Oxfordshire District Council planning officers granted it under delegated powers after no objections were received during consultation.

An outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts are included in the plans.

Planning permission to demolish and convert the property at Curdle Hill Farm in Chadlington - and replace it with a new house and a number of converted barns - had previously been granted in March 2010.

The permission lapsed earlier this year and the new application was the same scheme as Mr Clarkson previously proposed.
