A 61-year-old man from Oxford died after the stabbing at the Poundland store in Abingdon

A man has been charged with the murder of a Poundland customer in Abingdon.

Trevor Joyce, 36, of Franklyn Close, Abingdon, is accused of killing Justin Skrebowski at the shop shortly after 11:20 GMT on Monday.

Thames Valley Police said the victim had not been formally identified, but he was believed to be the 61-year-old from Oxford.

Police said Mr Skrebowski was a customer in the shop on Monday, when the stabbing took place.

His next of kin have been informed.

Officers are appealing to anyone who has video footage of the incident, which took place at Poundland in Bury Street.

Mr Joyce is due to appear at Banbury Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
