CCTV of missing ex-Uefa boss released by Swiss police

CCTV footage appearing to show a former Uefa executive, who is currently missing, near the organisation's headquarters has been released.

Bernard Ross, 51, was spotted at the building in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday, according to his wife Jacinta Evans.

She was told he asked to leave cards addressed to Uefa directors that said "help me" in French.

He has been missing since 18 October and has bipolar disorder.

His family said he was spotted late on Friday, where he spoke briefly to security guards and asked to leave five envelopes that featured a handwritten note which said "Aidez moi, please".

In an update on Facebook, Mrs Evans said police have since told her that a card was also left at a nearby medical clinic for a doctor who assessed his case in July.

An image has been released by the local police force, which has also received a report of another possible sighting in the Prangins district of Nyon.

Mrs Evans said her husband spent six months in hospital after he lost his job with Uefa last year and it is believed he does not have access to his medication.

He worked at European football's governing body for nearly 11 years, where he was director of TV production and digital services.

His wife has accused Uefa of failing to recognise his illness and said that had made his condition worse.

She believes he may have visited its headquarters because he was "at the end of his tether" with the organisation.

Uefa said it fully sympathised with Mrs Evans at this difficult time but "any suggestion of misconduct or maltreatment of Mr Ross on the part of Uefa would be wholly untrue."

"We sincerely hope for Bernie's swift and safe return", it added.

Mr Ross withdrew money in Grasse, France, before the possible sighting in Nyon, Switzerland
