A bus service to help the public cope with the 18-month closure of a major Oxford road has been cut back.

The Botley Flyer, which previously ran a bus every hour from 10:00 to 14:00, will now make one journey into the city centre at 10:00 and a return at 12:45.

Botley Road, a main route into the city, closed in April and is not expected to reopen before October 2024.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "The timetable has been revised and feedback is welcome."

The redevelopment work is part of a £161m scheme to expand Oxford railway station and replace Botley Road bridge.

The bus route starts at West Oxford Community Centre, then goes to Botley, then around to Woodstock Road, stopping in Summertown, Jericho and then Westgate Centre.

A spokesperson at Network Rail said: "We are keeping the service under review to ascertain how this can be improved in the future."
