Jaguar has opened a new technical headquarters to facilitate its electrically-powered racing cars.

Jaguar TCS Racing's new centre in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, will be a base for the team preparing for the upcoming 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

It is based at the recently opened Fortescue WAE facility.

Jaguar TCS racing team principal James Barclay called it a "significant milestone" at the "perfect time".

He said heading into the 2024 season his team would "continue our pursuit of points, podiums and race wins".

He added: "This new facility provides a world-class platform for our talented team to thrive and engineer our future success in the pinnacle of electric motorsport.

"Innovations and technology that we will develop here in Kidlington for the race track will continue our race to road philosophy as we share the latest in electric vehicle breakthroughs with JLR to support our future production vehicles."

The facility will design, develop and manufacture the powertrains for the team's four Jaguar-powered race cars.

It includes laboratories, a workshop with car work bays, an assembly room, and a driver-in-the-loop simulator, where drivers Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy can prepare for the circuits in the 2024 races.
