Banbury murder arrests after assaulted man dies

The man was assaulted in Cope Road, Banbury
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was assaulted.
The victim, a 39-year-old from Banbury, died after an incident in Cope Road in the early hours of Wednesday, Thames Valley Police said.
A force spokesperson said the man's next of kin have been informed.
A 48-year-old, previously arrested for attempted murder, and a 39-year-old man have both been held on suspicion of murder.
Thames Valley Police has set up a scene-watch while investigations are ongoing.
Det Ch Insp Mike Roddy urged residents in the area with concerns, or anyone who may have witnessed the assault, to contact police.
A force spokesperson said both men remain in custody.
They confirmed specialist officers were supporting the victim's family and a post-mortem examination is yet to take place.
