Scarlet Blake: CCTV shows murderer in coat and mask

A woman found guilty of murdering a man found dead in a river was captured on CCTV on the night she was looking for her victim.

Scarlet Blake, 26, of Crotch Crescent, walked to Oxford city centre in a long coat, mask, heavy boots, and carrying a backpack, in the early hours of the morning in July 2021.

Jorge Martin Carreno, 30, is also seen in footage, lost, trying to find his way home after a night out with friends, and at one point dropping his wallet.

Blake later led him to a secluded location by the River Cherwell, where his body was found having drowned after he was hit over the head and strangled.

The trial heard Ms Blake came to the UK from China aged nine, and came out to her parents as transgender at 12.

She said it "made my father really unhappy and my mother as well" and "caused a large emotional rift".
