Young men are four times more likely than other drivers to be convicted of dangerous or careless driving, according to new data analysis.

The research was conducted after Lewis Moghul, 22, was found to be more than three times the legal alcohol limit when he crashed his BMW in Oxfordshire last year, killing himself and 19-year-old passenger Sammy Phillips.

A documentary about the deaths, Drive Fast Die Young, is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Petrol Mini launched but electric future 'on target'

A new petrol Mini has been launched - but the manufacturing plant's director has insisted its plans to become fully electric remain on target.

The fifth generation Mini Cooper started production at the Mini plant in Cowley, Oxford, on Monday.

Markus Grüneisl, chief executive of BMW Group UK, said the Mini line was "in the middle" of a "transformation" but that electric Minis would be made onsite from 2026.

Woman gives birth on floor of pub bathroom

A woman had to give birth on the floor of a pub bathroom with the help of her husband.

Natalie was meant to be induced on Wednesday but went into labour on Tuesday morning, with Sophia arriving in just 30 minutes.

Dan, who runs the pub in Oxfordshire, was woken up by his wife and had to step in to deliver their first child.

The construction of a £185m Oxford University building has been captured in a time-lapse video.

The footage shows how the The Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities at the institution's Radcliffe Observatory Quarter has been taking shape since work began last year.

The university said the building was on track to be open in autumn 2025.

Derelict flat of abandoned dogs reclaimed

An abandoned flat from which 12 dogs had to be rescued has been reclaimed.

The discovery last year in Headington, Oxford, sparked an anti-social behaviour investigation led by Oxford City Council.

The RSPCA safely removed all the animals for health checks and rehoming. Six have been rehomed.
