Work on the £250m regeneration of Telford's town centre is starting next week, the council has said.

Contractors will move on to land close to the edge of Southwater Lake and outside Meeting Point House to clear them before building can begin.

The Southwater scheme, as it is known, is designed to bring hundreds of homes, new civic offices, two hotels, shops and bars to the town.

The main building work is expected to start in December.
