Telford secondary school could be rebuilt

Plans have been outlined to rebuild a secondary school in Telford.
If approved, new premises would be built for Ercall Wood Technology College and the existing one demolished later.
A council spokeswoman said the replacement school would also feature additional sporting facilities and be available for community use.
Public consultation will be held for 13 weeks before a decision is made by Telford & Wrekin Council.
The spokeswoman said the rebuild would cost about £16m, with funding from the government's since-closed Building Schools for the Future programme and the sale of playing fields.
The playing fields would be replaced by new sports and leisure facilities.
'Fantastic opportunity'
New school car parking and drop-off zones would be created at the site along with public open space off Bayley Road.
Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for children, young people and families, said: "The chance to rebuild yet another school in the borough would be a fantastic opportunity.
"The scheme has been fully supported by the school and its governors.
"Rebuilding would cause minimal disruption in comparison to the original four-year plan to extensively remodel the school and relocate pupils into costly, temporary accommodation for a lengthy period."
